Cost is a focal point for anyone that sits down to buy a diamond. What you decide to spend on your stone is your business. One thing is definite; Carats will always beat competitor's prices.

We import all of our stones and buy directly. We often buy them as rocks and cut them ourselves.

Carats commits to unspeakable beauty in diamonds. The value is in knowing when she puts her hand out she's going to be proud of the fact that she has the most beautiful, bright, white stone.

Price guidelines are based on:
   · The rarity of the color
   · Laboratory grade of the stone
   · Color composition
   · Strength of the color saturation
   · Quality of the cut and size of the gem (relative to its rarity)
These factors are examined in order to determine an accurate market price.
 

The Shape of Colour

The shape and cut of a colored diamond is selected to best emphasize beauty and color. Most diamonds are cut into fancy shapes that amplify color, such as a Radiant, Cushion, Pear or Oval.

Round (brilliant) gems are worth more than fancy shapes because of a higher loss in weight during the cutting process.

Emerald Cut and round shapes with strong color are rare and sell at a premium.
